Metadata Project Muse

Seeking any advice on how to do the following, or where to begin:

I have hundreds of pdfs downloaded from Project Muse & JSTOR. They all have unique file names, #.#.Authorslastname.pdf (e.g. 30.2.kristof.pdf)

Numbers refer to the volume & issue of the journal where the article appears.

Is there any way to grab metadata for these files when adding them to Calibre library? Truly a novice here, but I'm willing to try to learn how to make this process easier than editing each individual pdf.
