Calibre freezing PC

Hi, I've just installed version 0.8.62 on my Windows XP SP3 PC, but on running it, the PC starts to run EXTREMELY slowly. The results of "calibre-debug -g" are as follows:

Also if I end the calibre process and try to restart it, it does not launch and I cannot even kill the new process that starts up, so I must reboot my PC to get rid of it.

I have tried un-installing and running a registry cleaner (ccleaner) before re-installing, but this does not help.

I have this same version installed on my Windows 7 laptop and I love it, so I would really like to have it sorted out on my desktop.
